When the apprenticeship assessment reforms were first announced in February 2025, there was a lot for awarding organisations to get their heads around.
New regulatory requirements. Less prescription in Assessment Plans. Greater responsibility for assessment design. New questions around Centre delivery. All of that while still managing existing qualifications, delivery, compliance and limited resources.
We understood how overwhelming that felt. We know what it is like to juggle regulatory expectations, assessment design, operational realities, competing priorities and finite capacity.
We know how frustrating it can be when guidance is still developing, when different documents need to be pieced together, and when you are trying to make decisions without always having a neat precedent to follow.
That was why JEML Consulting and ProAssess started working together when the reforms first emerged, and we have been collaborating ever since.
Since then, we have supported awarding organisations through webinars, drop-in sessions, consultancy, practical resources and ongoing discussion. We regularly share ideas, challenge each other’s thinking and work together on the questions that keep coming up as organisations move from understanding the reforms into designing, developing and implementing their own apprenticeship assessments.
